A2P 10DLC Rejected in GoHighLevel? 7 Common Reasons and How to Fix Them
If your GoHighLevel A2P 10DLC registration got rejected, you are not alone. It is one of the most common problems we fix for agencies and business owners. Until your brand and campaign are approved, your SMS messages to US numbers can be blocked or filtered, which means missed appointment reminders, lost leads and follow-ups that never arrive.
The good news: almost every rejection comes down to a handful of fixable issues. Here are the seven we see most often, and what to do about each one.
1. Your business details don't match official records
The carrier review checks your legal business name, EIN and address against official records. If you typed "ABC Marketing" but your EIN is registered to "ABC Marketing LLC", or your address is different, the brand can be rejected.
Fix: Copy your legal business name, EIN and address exactly as they appear on your official registration documents. No abbreviations, no trading names.
2. Your website is missing or doesn't look like a real business
Reviewers visit the website you submit. If it is a blank page, a "coming soon" page, or a funnel with no business information, that is a red flag.
Fix: Make sure the website is live and shows your business name, what you do, and a way to contact you (email, phone or address).
3. No Privacy Policy or Terms on the website
This is the number one reason we see. Carriers expect a Privacy Policy that explains how you collect and use phone numbers, and it should state that you do not share or sell mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing.
Fix: Add a Privacy Policy page and a Terms page, link them in your website footer, and include a clear SMS section in both.
4. Your forms don't collect SMS consent
If people give you their phone number on a form, there must be clear consent language for SMS, usually a checkbox that is not pre-ticked. It should say what messages they will receive, that message and data rates may apply, and that they can reply STOP to opt out and HELP for help.
Fix: Update every GoHighLevel form and survey that collects a phone number with proper opt-in wording and links to your Privacy Policy and Terms.
5. Sample messages don't match your use case
If your campaign says "appointment reminders" but your sample messages look like promotions, the campaign gets rejected.
Fix: Write sample messages that match the use case you selected, include your business name, and include opt-out language such as "Reply STOP to unsubscribe".
6. The campaign description is too vague
"We send messages to customers" is not enough. Reviewers want to know who you are messaging, why, and how they opted in.
Fix: Describe the campaign clearly: who receives the messages, what the messages are for, how often, and exactly how contacts opt in (for example, "via the contact form on our website with an unchecked SMS consent checkbox").
7. Opt-in and opt-out keywords aren't set up
Missing or unclear STOP and HELP responses can also cause problems.
Fix: Check your opt-in, opt-out and help keyword messages so they clearly identify your business and explain how to stop messages.
How long does re-approval take?
Once you resubmit with the fixes above, review can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on carrier queues. The best way to avoid delays is to fix everything in one go, rather than resubmitting several times.
